Ken Riemer represents Alabama consumers in a wide-range of consumer finance-related areas. For over twenty years his practice has been dedicated to using consumer protection laws to help real people solve real problems. This includes fighting back against abuses by mortgage lenders and servicers, wrongful foreclosures, credit reporting fraud, identity theft, predatory lending, unlawful payday loans, unlawful debt collection practices, credit card billing errors and electronic theft of funds.

Ken is a 1990 graduate of Tulane Law School. His 32-year career as a civil litigator began with as Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. There he served in the Environmental Enforcement Section, filing cases against polluting companies across the country. He received the Attorney General’s Special Achievement for his service in recovering millions of dollars in fines and clean-up costs. In 1994 he returned to his home town of Mobile, Alabama, where he was a partner with what then was the largest state-wide firm in Alabama. In 2001, he opened his own firm to focus on helping people solve legal and financial problems through use of federal and state consumer protection laws. In 2010 he formed Underwood & Riemer, P.C. – South Alabama’s only multi-attorney firm dedicated to consumer protection and consumer finance litigation. In 2020 he formed Riemer Law, LLC to continue his work fighting for the consumer rights of Alabamians.

Ken is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates; the South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association; the Alabama Association for Justice; the American Association for Justice, the Alabama State Bar and the Mobile County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of Alabama. He is named a National Top 100 Trial Lawyer.
